Phoebe is a vizla/lab mix who came to us from Zeus’s Place in Louisiana on a rescue transport coordinated by Moore Love Rescue. Mosquitos are pretty abundant in LA, and as with many strays down there, Phoebe was heartworm positive.

Pheobe handled the treatment and six weeks of crate rest like a champ. For a dog’s whose mission in life is to run, jump and play, we were worried that the mandatory rest would break her spirit. No way. She found ways to entertain herself in crate, frequently tossing a tennis ball or soft toy in the air. She quickly became a favorite of her foster family.

Phoebe went to live with her forever family in March 2011. They live on 2.5 acres in llinois so Phoebe will have plenty of room to run. She’s a favorite of the neighborhood dogs and loves all people. We couldn’t have picked a better family for this wonderful dog.

We are grateful to H.E.A.R.T. and an anonymous donor for sponsoring Phoebe’s medical treatment.
